This past Saturday, Sylene of Washington was excited to participate in Sugar Ray Leonard and Katie Rost’s Monte Carlo Night at TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. This event was the major fundraising event for Katie Rost’s Team Believe, which is participating in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s annual Man & Woman of the Year fundraising competition.
This night of casino games for charity featured Poker, Blackjack, Craps, Roulette, Wheel of Fortune, and Slot Machines. The fundraiser also included silent auction, cocktails and gourmet cuisine, and wasn’t only be a fun night out, but a wonderful way to give back to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, which does so much for those fighting blood cancers in our community. This event brought together community leaders, the corporate sector, and the philanthropic community to fight cancer. We were very excited to have the beautiful Washington Wizard Girls model our swimwear at the event. Toka Salon generously donated their time to do the hair and make up for the models.

Most women are familiar with two distinct fashion seasons, but there is a third one that receives little attention outside the high-fashion world: resort. Resort wear, or “cruise wear”, was traditionally worn by globetrotters who required a warm-weather wardrobe while vacationing during the winter months. In recent years, resort has become an important collection for designers and retailers.

 SyLene swimsuits were featured in Adult Swim: Dare to be Fashionably Courageous Sunday, August 23rd at the Liaison Hotel in Washington, DC. The fashion show, emceed by television star Paul Wharton, showcased Wizard Girls in SyLene swimwear and Mystique jewelry. The highlight of the event will be a one-of-a-kind summer swimwear fashion show with models strutting the runway in high-end swimwear designs from local chic luxury boutique, SyLene, and in fine designer jewelry from Mystique Jewelers, including pieces by Award-winning designer, Alberto Parada who will be in attendance. Additionally, models will be glammed up by celebrity hairstylist’s Ted Gibson Salon and make- up artists from Saks Fith Avenue. Some of Washington’s best are expected to attend including philanthropist and model, Katie Rost. The CW’s, Paul Wharton will make a special appearance to serve as the Emcee.
